FAQs

Do you ship worldwide?

Yes, I ship worldwide from the UK. All items will be sent using a Tracked service. Some countries may require you to pay import tax or custom fees - I cannot accept responsibility for any additional fees incurred, so please consider this before making a purchase.

How will my order be packaged?

Orders will be wrapped in kraft paper, with paper tape wherever possible. Some orders - particularly those being sent overseas - will have an additional layer of packaging to protect the contents. This will always be re-used packaging, but may either be paper or plastic depending on what is available.

Is a wooden dowel included with your wall hangings?

Unfortunately, including a wooden dowel greatly increases postage costs due to the size of the parcel and so I have chosen to sell my quilted wall hangings without them (unless otherwise stated). If you would prefer to receive your order with a dowel included, please send me a message using my contact form and I will calculate any additional postage costs.

Wooden dowel is available to buy in most DIY and hobby shops, and is easy to cut down to size at home - or ask a member of staff in the shop.

Do you use sustainable materials?

The majority of my work is made with OEKO-TEX certified European linen. Linen is made from the flax plant, which is an extremely productive crop - requiring far less water to grow and process than cotton - and grows without the need for pesticides or chemicals. Linen is also hard-wearing and long-lasting, as well as being naturally biodegradable. The OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification means that the fabric has been independently checked and declared free from harmful substances.

I sometimes include fabrics repurposed from clothing and household textiles. These are items that have reached the end of their useful life (or occasionally something that has caught my eye in a charity shop).

I use cotton batting in my quilts - which is natural, breathable and biodegradable. I am aware that cotton is a resource intensive crop, and so I intend to test bamboo batting for suitability as a more sustainable alternative.

I want to display one of your large quilts on the wall, can you help?

I can add a fabric sleeve to the back of a quilt for an additional fee. A length of wood or a pole can be fed through the the sleeve, which can then be hung or mounted on the wall. Please send me a request using my contact form to find out more.

Do you accept commisions?

Yes! Depending on my existing workload, I love to make commissions. If you have an idea in mind, please get in touch using my contact form and I will respond as soon as I can to discuss further. Prices vary according to size, the quantity of patchwork pieces involved (the more pieces, the more time it takes to cut and sew!), and the amount of hand stitching required.

I am also able to adapt existing designs. If you like an item in my shop but would prefer a different size or colourway, get in touch :)

If you have a question that isn't answered here, please send me a message using the contact form.
